Dragages Hong Kong Limited and BYTP in joint venture with China Harbour Engineering Company won from Highways Department a contract to construct the East Tsing Yi Viaduct at the contract sum of HK$1012 million.

The works mainly comprise the construction of an approximately 1.1 km dual 3-lane carriageway predominantly of pre-cast box girder segmental viaduct connecting the Stonecutters Bridge and the Nam Wan Tunnel in the south-eastern part of Tsing Yi Island. Associated works include the viaduct ramps, roadworks, drainage, slope works, landscape works and environmental mitigation measures. The works will commence in early December 2004 with a completion period of 40 months.
