On Wednesday 24 March 2004, LDB 201 received another two site honors, namely “Considerate Contractors Site Award” and “Site Cleanliness & Tidiness Silver Award”.

The event was organised by Environment, Transport and Works Bureau (ETWB). The Scheme started since 1995 to recognise public works contractors for their consideration to the community when carrying out works. The Scheme was expanded to include non-public works sites since 1997.

Officiating guests of the events came from:

· Environment, Transport and Works Bureau
· Economic Development and Labour
· Director of Buildings
· Deputy Director of Housing
· The Hong Kong Construction Association
· The Hong Kong Institute of Architects
· The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers

The winning sites need to pass the 4 quarterly assessments. In total, 51 non-public works sites participated in the Scheme for the appraisal period between 1 January and 31 December 2003. And in the final phases there are 23 candidates entitled to receive the Considerate Contractors Site Award. Furthermore, out of the 23 candidates, LDB201 received the Site Cleanliness & Tidiness Silver Award.

Criteria for the final selection are:

Sites that are likely to have an impact on the public; and site which have an active construction period covering the appraisal period between 1 January and 31 December 2003.

The judging criteria are:

1. Good site management
2. Environmental consciousness
3. Law abiding
4. Safety
5. Being considerate to neighbours and passers-by
6. Being considerate overall
