The Hong Kong Construction Association (HKCA) presented to Dragages Hong Kong “HKCA Most Proactive Safety Contractor Award” in recognition of Dragages’ low accident rate (17 accidents / 1000 workers compared to industrial standard of 85.2/1000).

In evaluation of the award for 2003, addition objectives like training, promotion and methods contributed to improvement in site safety were taken into account.

The low accident rate has also allowed Dragages Hong Kong to surpass the Safety Achievement Target (i.e. 40/1000 as the passing criteria) compared to the average accident incident rate of 28.7/1000 among the 61 companies included in the survey.

Mr. Alfred Leung, Associate Director of Business Development, Civil Work, represented Dragages in receiving the Award at the Annual Safety Conference of the Hong Kong Construction Association on 30 October 2003.
